heiken ashi - saw this in a couple forums and decided to try it. Been getting good results in commodities futures trading. Have not tried it on the Forex or stocks. I saw an oscillator that used this and simple to use. Derived from candlesticks but smoothed and if used with a bollinger band pinch and spread can get more accurate entry and extend profit at exit.

You know those ETF's that Goldman Sachs and the big guys used to hedge the market (with tax payer money). Lately the have gained popularity again with the recent officially declared bear market. 200 SMA was crossed by the 50SMA many believe this is a bear market sign for at least the time being.
I really didn't want to talk about ETF's but those little karma leaves on the profile. What does a person need to do to get at least 2 of those little buggers. I could use some more karma, how about you.

Unfortunately even good stocks can get pulled down by the market stream. Right now, unless you have a good canoe and paddles it's rough.
Tip : Look at the basic staples in futures , in hard times they tend to do well. I hear a lot of vibes about gold , sounds alluring and great for the investor that has enough margin to ride out the dips, but basic staples pay out nicely and the margin for the beginner or intermediate investor is not bad. October sugar was up .75 today that gains 750.00USD per contract , Lumber was up 12.00 -nice, 1200.00USD gain per contract in just one day . Wheat and mini-wheat both good. Discount brokers offer 8.99 round contract cost, one has free contracts for 60 days , another 90 days up to 1000.00 if your just wanting to get in. Perhaps your existing broker has futures offerings check out the details each contract has, the margins, payouts are different between each.
Basic staples do well in hard times.

Noticed 40.00usd climb in KCN10 columbian coffee in just a couple weeks, columbia coffee cartel decided to raise prices. Could have netted 40g but got the news late. Sugar SBN10 is into a july good start. China lost 10% of their crop to a cyclone and Florida got off to a bad start earlier in the cane harvest with frost. May be a sweet deal if you can keep it till mid-august.
